Welcome
wrestling fans to another edition of Brainwaves right here on
HWAOnline.com!
I have
some major news to break concerning the HWA Heavyweight Championship
currently held by "King Vu" Richard Phillips.
Based on
what happened this past Wednesday in the HWA American Luchacore
title match, HWA officials have named "The Angelic Assassin" Aaron
Williams the new #1 Contender to King Vu's championship and the two
will meet on Wednesday Night November 25th (Thanksgiving Eve) at The
Sorg!
If this
past Wednesday was any indication that title match alone promises to
be worth the price of admission and King Vu has got to
be more than a little concerned that his title reign is in some
serious jeopardy. After all, Aaron pinned his shoulders to the mat
for the three count. That gives Williams a HUGE psychological
advantage over the HWA's reigning monarch.
But Vu has
more than Aaron Williams to concern himself with as Vu and his Royal
Violence tag team partner "The Most Dangerous Man in the HWA" Jon
Moxley will defend the HWA Tag Team Championship this Wednesday
Night November 11th at The Sorg against former champions The Irish
Airborne.
There is
no denying the Irish Airborne's tag team credentials and they
reminded everyone why they are the greatest tag team in HWA history
this past Wednesday when they won a 4 Team Elimination match to earn
the shot at Royal Violence.
This will
be the first title defense for Royal Violence since they won the HWA
Tag Team Titles from the Kosher Klub last month and it is without
question one of the biggest tag team matches we've ever presented in
Middletown and given the four men involved including the current HWA
Heavyweight Champion and two former HWA Heavyweight Champions this
one has all the elements of being an instant classic.
Heavy is
the head that wears the crown... the dual champion King Vu is
finding that out first hand.
If you
were with us Wednesday Night in Middletown you heard about the first
match announced for the HWA's Thanksgiving Eve Spectacular coming to
The Sorg on November 25th... Team Bad Attitude vs. Team New Attitude
in a classic tag team elimination match.
The
situation between "Bad Attitude" Brian Beech and "New Attitude" Ron
Mathis continues to escalate, but at this point neither man has been
able to get the upper hand in this feud, perhaps it will be a
different story after their night of tag team elimination warfare!
I
understand both Beech and Mathis are currently choosing their team
members. A suggestion for Beech... select Shank Barzini for your
team!
Now I
can't imagine anyone wanting to work with Mathis. Not only did he
prove he can't be trusted when he stabbed Beech in the back, I know
first hand from working with him on The Pulse what an unpleasant
experience it is.
I
understand there will be another tag team elimination match
announced soon for November 25th. As always stay tuned to HWA Online
for that info!
Speaking
of tag teams... who could have predicted that Tim Donst would join
forces with Jesse Emerson last Saturday in Norwood. Jesse was
probably more shocked than anybody when the HWA's version of the
Halloween Phantom unmasked and revealed himself to be Tim Donst.
If given
the choice, I doubt Jesse would have called upon Donst's help, given
all of the things Donst has done since his arrival in the HWA this
past January, but you can't argue the fact that Donst did the right
thing at HWA Fear For All.
Will we
see an Emerson/Donst tag team in the future? Only time will tell.
But Donst
is definitely going to need some help if he plans on going toe to
toe with his former Crusade cohorts, The Hybrids.
It has
been some time since we've seen the vicious side of Donovan Cain and
Jason Lyte, but that definitely came out as they tried to take Donst
out of action following the tag team match.
The
Hybrids/Emerson & Donst match was just one of the highlights of
another great show in Norwood last weekend as the HWA celebrated
Halloween at the Donald E. Prues Center with HWA Fear For All. We've
received a lot of positive feedback on the show and look forward to
returning to Norwood on December 19th for our year end extravaganza,
HWA World War III.
The HWA
roster delivered as they always do. The costume contest was a lot of
fun and I enjoyed interacting with our fans of all ages who
participated in that. And as always the crowd in Norwood brought
their energy and enthusiasm that make for such a fun atmosphere.
And it is
the loyal fans in Norwood and Middletown along with the hardest
working roster in indy wrestling that have allowed the HWA to carry
on.
Two years
ago when the HWA re-launched many predicted doom and gloom, many
didn't think it would last but here we are two years later and we
are still moving forward and still putting on the best shows we
possibly can each and every time we go out there.
And that
is why I'm so proud to be a part of the Heartland Wrestling
Association.
